Beach Park Mayor John Hucker has revoked the liquor license of Cruiser’s Bar and Grille, 38498 Sheridan Road.

Hucker, who also serves as the village’s liquor commissioner, took the action following the revocation of the bar’s state license by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission.

The state board revoked Cruiser’s liquor license late last week due to non-payment of certain state sales and use taxes, reported by the Illinois Department of Revenue.

Hucker said he was called to testify at the state revocation hearing “to confirm certain facts in the case, and to inform the Illinois Liquor Control Commission that we were in the process of considering revoking Cruiser’s liquor license based on other issues unrelated to the tax issue.”

“We are pleased to report that the issues related to this establishment, while a long time coming, have finally reached a satisfactory conclusion,” Hucker said.

He said advertising signs outside the bar should be removed shortly.
