Synthetic cannabis seized in Grayslake

GRAYSLAKE — Criminal charges are pending after the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Unit received an anonymous tip that the Marathon gas station at 735 Belvidere Road, was selling synthetic cannabis.
Synthetic cannabis, also referred to as K2 or Spice, is illegal to possess or sell in the U.S., according to the Sheriff’s Office. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the business and seized 913 grams of synthetic cannabis, and $1,624 in cash.
Criminal charges are pending results from the crime laboratory, a sheriff’s spokeswoman said.
