A Round Lake man was indicted before a grand jury on reckless homicide and aggravated DUI charges last week.
Anthony Cechini, 24, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, cocaine and cannabis, when he smashed into a tree on Saturday, Sept. 29. His front-seat passenger, David Letchinger Jr., 22, of McHenry, died from multiple injuries, police said. Cechini and Letchinger were friends, according to police.
Cechini was driving a 2004 Subaru in the 100 block of Nippersink Boulevard when he hit the tree, police said. It was a single-car accident.
Cechini was released from Lake County Jail after he posted 10 percent of $250,000 on Oct. 5, according to jail records. He is due for arraignment Dec. 20.
