Geoff Akins will perform his Bubble Wonders show.
You’ll see incredible sights when Geoff Akins performs his Bubble Wonders show. But there’s more to Akins’ performance than blowing bubbles inside bubbles and encasing a kid in a giant bubble.
You will understand what we mean if you Ring in the New Year with Geoff Akins, 2 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30 at Fremont Public Library, 1170 N. Midlothian Road, Mundelein.
Akins’ mantra is, “Anything is Possible.” He demonstrates that it’s just a matter of persistence.
Akins offers another lesson for children. “There’s a whole component about inspiring kids to read,” he said. “At one point during the show, I turn a bubble into a solid ball. I ask, ‘Who wants to know how I did that?’ ”
Of course, everyone does. At which point Akins explains that the answer to that secret trick is in a special collection. He then tells them, “We’re in that special collection now. We call it ‘the library.’ ”
