GRANT TOWNSHIP — A three-car accident where two of the three drivers went to the hospital closed down Wilson Road early Friday morning, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Weather was a contributing factor as light snow and lower temperatures made for slick conditions in some areas.
One of the drivers was transported to the hospital with a punctured and bruised lung and a broken rib.
One other driver was transported to the hospital with less severe injuries.
A 2009 Hyundi Elantra was northbound on Wilson Road about a quarter-mile south of Route 134 when a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt reportedly sideswiped the Hyundi, causing it to spin and it was then hit by a northbound 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck.
The identities of the drivers was not being immediately released by the Sheriff’s Office. No tickets have been issued.
The roadway was closed for several hours while the accident was cleaned up and the injured taken to the hospital.
