LINDENHURST — Police and Lake County Crime Stoppers are looking for information on a criminal damage to property involving two vehicles parked behind the Lindenhurst police station Sunday night.
Information leading to an arrest could be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000 for the person who makes an anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers at (847) 662-2222.
Police reported Monday that sometime between 8:30 and 10 p.m., someone smashed the windshields and the passenger side windows with a hard object to two vehicles belonging to police officers working at the time.
The department’s squad cars were parked about 30 feet from the vehicles, but none of them were damaged, said Lindenhurst Police Cmdr. John Mars.
“We’re going to do everything we can to find the suspects,” he said. Neither vehicle was entered and it appears someone just wanted to do damage to the vehicles. Damage was estimated at more than $1,000.
The parking lot and police station is located at 2300 E. Grand Ave., Lindenhurst.
