WAUKEGAN — Six liquor license holders sold alcohol to underage participants in a compliance check held by the Illinois Liquor Control Commission and Illinois State Police District 2, authorities said Thursday.
Authorities checked 11 licensees late last month, and found six sold liquor to undercover minors. Those cited included:
Grand Ave. Super Liquors, 1328 Grand Ave.,
Dave’s Liquors, 2300 Grand Ave.
Derby Liquors, 2864 Washington St.
Waukegan Citgo, 2400 Grand Ave.
Jacob’s Gas, 1005 Golf Road.
People’s Choice Family Center, 2411 Grand Ave.
A spokesman for the city of Waukegan said Thursday violations in cases such as these typically go before the local liquor commissioner for an administrative review, and any recommendation for a license suspension or revocation would then go before the Waukegan Liquor Control Commission in a public meeting.
No meeting dates have been scheduled.
