Kids will be given challenges during the Great Egg Quest March 27.
It takes more than a keen eye to gather eggs at the Great Egg Quest, 7 to 7:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 27 at Diamond Lake Beach and Recreation Center, 1016 Diamond Lake Road, Mundelein. Children ages 7-11, with an adult, have to perform skills to get their rewards.
“As a team of two, they will start out at a station they’re assigned and perform certain tasks,” Program Supervisor Myra Tatarowicz said. “Then they’ll get a clue to find their way to the next station.’”
An example of the type of skill assigned is “Get Dicey.” The child holds a tongue depressor in their mouth and stacks four dice at the end of it without letting the dice fall.
The goal of the event “is to get people outside and active,” Tatarowicz said.
Afterwards, everyone will gather at the Recreation Center for hot chocolate and prizes. The cost is $12 for residents, $14 for nonresidents. Registration is required.
