A statewide investigation in Wisconsin to nab child predators called Operation Black Veil nabbed a Zion man who allegedly solicited a child for sex.
Daniel Moctezuma, 39, of Zion was arrested March 14 in Kenosha, Wis., after a Door County sheriff’s investigator posing as a 15-year-old girl answered an ad on Craigslist for oral sex posted by Moctezuma who allegedly used his real name.
They made arrangements online to meet at a Kenosha business in the 2000 block of 22nd Avenue at 3:30 p.m., said Kenosha police. He showed up and waited in the parking lot looking around like he was looking for someone.
He eventually went inside the business, came out and then drove around the business a number of times. After about a half hour he began to drive away and he was stopped for texting and driving. Police said Moctezuma admitted to coming to Kenosha to meet the girl he meet online.
He was charged with use of computer to facilitate a child sex crime, child enticement and second-degree sexual assault of a child, police said.
The three-day long Operation Black Veil, March 12 through March 14, resulted in more than 15 suspects arrested for the online soliciting of children for the purpose of engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
