State’s Attorney Nerheim joins Facebook, Twitter

Now you can “friend” or “like” the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office or become one of its followers.
“In this era of the information age, these social media platforms are where so many government entities, businesses and individuals are increasingly getting their news, conducting their business, sharing their opinions and living their lives. With these new channels, Lake County citizens will be able to obtain the information they need and are entitled to,” said State’s Attorney Mike Nerheim in announcing his office is now on Facebook and Twitter. He joins the Lake County Sheriff’s Office and many Lake County government departments.
Nerheim said his office’s Facebook page will contain information about ongoing community events and any his office has been involved in, links to press releases, and updates on important things happening in the office. It will also serve as the direct link between the media. He also hopes it will build a social network between his office and the community.
“Building our social network will give us the opportunity to share educational information and communicate with the public more than we have before,” he said.
Nerheim said transparency is important to him and he wants people to be aware of public information and the ways the staff is involved in positive community events.
