A couple with young children face multiple drug charges in court next week after Antioch police served a search warrant and found a number of different drugs that were accessible to the couple’s children ages 4, 5 and 11.
The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services has been called after the arrest of Jeremy Point, 30, and Audra Kilger, 26, at their home at 40973 N. Route 59 on Tuesday, April 2. Police Chief Craig Somerville said the couple has been actively dealing drugs within the village.
“The Antioch Police Department is fully committed to arresting and prosecuting those individuals involved in drug sales within our community and seizing any assets determined to be the proceeds of this activity. We will use these assets to fund additional drug suppression efforts,” he said.
During the search of the residence, police found 16 grams of cocaine, some ecstasy and other narcotic pills, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. There was also $1,400 in cash seized under the forfeiture act.
“All items were located in various places throughout the couple’s home and could have been easily discovered by the one of the couple’s three children,” he said.
Both were charged with unlawful possession of a controlled substance, two charges of unlawful possession of controlled substance with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance without proof of prescription and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Point was being held on $250,000 bond and Kilger on $50,000 bond. Both are being held in Lake County Jail. Their court date is April 9.
