Defense was the key side of the ball for Waukegan High School’s football team last fall. The offense had its moments, and special-team units were well below average, but the defense came to play every night and gave the Bulldogs a chance to have a successful season.
One of the key members of that defensive unit was outside linebacker Adam Sivia, who was equally adept at rushing the passer and filling lanes on running plays.
His play did not go unnoticed and this fall, he’ll be playing for Carroll University in Waukesha, Wis.
Carroll plays at the NCAA Division 3 level in the Midwest Conference (Lake Forest College, Beloit, etc.) and the Pioneers are somewhat of a powerhouse. Last year, they went 8-2. The year before, they were 7-3, and the two years before that, they won the conference title and qualified for the national tournament. Carroll hasn’t had a losing season since 2006. It’s first game this fall is on Sept. 8 at home against Lakeland College.
