The 80th annual Lake Villa Days celebration will be held Thursday-Sunday at Lehman Park on Cedar Avenue.

The festival is sponsored by the Lake Villa Volunteer Fire Department, and activities include bingo and gaming, rides and games for all ages, water fights, live music, and food/beverages.

Festivities begin at 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, and at noon on Sunday. To get to Lehman Park, take Route 132 (Grand Avenue) west of Route 83 to Cedar Road and head north. The can’t-miss park is on your left.

Fire departments from throughout the area will compete in the fan-favorite water fights at 5:30 on Saturday. Then, on Sunday, there will be water fights between members of area businesses. Water fights for women will be at noon, and water fights for men will be follow as soon as a women’s champ is crowned. To register for the water fights, arrive at 11 a.m. Sunday.

There will be live music with Bella Cain at 9 p.m. on Friday and Modern Day Romeos at 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The Lindenhurst-Lake Villa Chamber Of Commerce’s Mud Run 3.1-mile event will be held Saturday at Caboose Park (Fairfield and Grand). Registration opens at 8 a.m. and the first wave begins at 9 a.m. Waves leave every 30 minutes until noon. The cost for the fun event is $60. There will be a smaller children’s course where the kids can have fun and get muddy like their parents. Cost is $15. Awards will be at 5 p.m. or after the last runners are finished.
