Veteran duo to appear at In-Laws in Gurnee

GURNEE — The Lake County Folk Club will present Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsen in concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at In-Laws Restaurant, 720 Milwaukee Ave.
Gillette and Mangsen have been performing together for over 20 years, combining their love of traditional music and their wealth of original songs. Their live performances are known for rich harmony, compelling songs and a good dose of humor.
Gillette’s songs have been covered by Ian and Sylvia, John Denver, Garth Brooks, Linda Ronstadt, Tammy Wynette and many others. He is known for his warm baritone voice and his unique finger-picking guitar style.
Mangsen features one of acoustic music’s finest voices in addition to her beautiful accompaniments on guitar, banjo, concertina and mountain dulcimer.
Opening for the duo will be Chuck VanderVennet, a talented singer-songwriter and guitarist with a wealth of traditional, contemporary and original songs in his portfolio.
