Michelle Prokof of Gurnee has been named both the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week for her play on the soccer pitch at Texas Christian University.

The freshman is the sixth player in Big 12 history to earn both accolades in the same week.

Prokof was responsible for all four goals scored by the Horned Frogs last week. She became the first TCU player since 2009 to record a hat trick, netting all three goals in the 3-0 win against Central Arkansas. Her other goal came in Friday’s 1-1 tie with Denver.

Prokof graduated from Warren High School where she ran cross country in the fall but did not play for the school’s soccer team. Instead, she played club soccer.
