A 20-year-old Gurnee man was killed and two other men were injured in a rollover crash in Lake Forest early Thursday morning.
A four-door sedan was traveling northbound about 2:35 a.m. on Route 41, north of Westleigh Road. It left the highway at a bend and struck several trees before rolling over, Lake Forest police said in a release.
The three men were removed from the car by paramedics, police said.
The driver, Lance Nazario, was dead at the scene, according to authorities. An autopsy conducted Thursday determined he died of multiple injuries due to blunt force trauma from the motor vehicle accident, Deputy Coroner Orlando Portillo said.
“Alcohol was a factor,” Portillo said.
Nazario was not wearing a seat belt, Coroner Thomas Rudd added. He suffered injuries predominantly to the head and chest, Rudd said.
The two survivors were taken to Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital and Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.
They are expected to survive, police said.
The Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team and Lake Forest police are investigating the crash.
