Teen boy dead, woman wounded at party in Zion

A teenage boy is dead and a woman was wounded early Sunday after shots rang out at a party in Zion, police said.
Zion Police and the Lake County Major Crime Task Force are investigating the fatal shooting that took place at a party on the 2400 block of Gilboa Avenue.
According to a statement released Sunday morning, Zion Police responded to numerous emergency calls around 12:54 a.m. about shots being fired on Gilboa. The report stated that officers responding to the scene “observed a large number of people in and around the residence, (which) was the location of a large party involving well over 100 people; many appeared to be older teenagers.”
The report added that “people were observed pouring out of (the residence) and were running around the street, sidewalks, and alley.
Adarius Green, 15, of the 3000 block of Gilead Avenue in Zion, was pronounced dead, police said.
A 26-year-old Zion woman suffered non-life-threatening wounds, police said. Hospital information was not immediately available.
