Person hit by Metra train in Grayslake

A Metra train hit a pedestrian in Grayslake Tuesday evening.

North Central Service Train No. 120 had just stopped at the Washington Street station and was running express to downtown when it hit a person near Center Street about 7:15 p.m., Metra spokeswoman Meg Reile said.

The pedestrian was taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, Reile said, but the person’s condition was not yet known.

The train was stopped because of the incident, but was moving again with delays of 100 to 110 minutes, Metra’s website said.
