Police are searching for the person who called in a bomb threat to a Gages Lake school Thursday morning, prompting an evacuation.

Clearbrook, a facility for the disabled inside Gages Lake School at 18180 W. Gages Lake Road, was evacuated at 9:45 a.m. after the bomb threat, Lake County Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sgt. Sara Balmes said.

School administration made the decision to evacuate the school and place additional schools on the campus on lockdown. Students were bused from Gages Lake School to Special Education District of Lake County (SEDOL).

A search for the bomb turned up nothing, and the students were bused back and resumed normal activities as of 11 a.m., according to the statement.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office criminal investigation division will continue to investigate the incident.
