Over a span of four days last week, three women were followed home from Waukegan’s Fountain Square Walmart Supercenter and another woman from the Walgreens on Lewis Avenue and robbed at gunpoint, but police say they have caught the perpetrators.
The first two incidents happened Dec. 12, when women were followed to their Waukegan homes in separate incidents after shopping at the Walmart at at 3900 Fountain Square Place, according to a statement from Waukegan police.
In both cases, Monchello Tucker, 24, and Kantrall Brumfield, 27, robbed the women at gunpoint, police said.
The next day, a woman was followed to her home in Gurnee after shopping at the Walmart in Waukegan, and robbed at gunpoint by Tucker, Brumfield, and Antonio Tucker, 22, according to police.
And on Dec. 15, a fourth woman was followed from the Walgreens at 2200 Lewis Ave., to her home in Waukegan, where she was robbed by Tucker and Brumfield, police said.
None of the women were injured in the robberies, during which cellphones, credit cards and cash were taken, according to police. After the three were arrested, police learned the weapon used in the robberies was a BB gun.
Monchello Tucker, of the 1700 block of Sunset in Waukegan is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery. Brumfield, of the 1000 block of Judge in Waukegan, was charged with four counts of aggravated robbery. Antonio Tucker, also of the 1000 block of Judge, was charged with three counts of identity theft and two counts of unlawful use of a credit card, according to police.
All three are being held in the Lake County Jail on $100,000 bonds, and are scheduled to return to court on Jan. 22.
