According to ZionSolutions, LLC, a subsidiary of EnergySolutions Inc., ZCAP will serve as a conduit for public information and as a formal channel of community involvement and communication with ZionSolutions.

ZionSolutions was formed specifically to undertake the decommissioning of the lakeshore nuclear plant. The 10-year project is expected to be completed in 2020.

The majority of the volunteer panel members were appointed by their participating groups, which were selected for their wide-reaching representation of different sectors of the local community.
