GURNEE — The parent company of Six Flags Great America reported Wednesday the highest revenue and earnings in the company’s history.

Texas-based Six Flags Entertainment Corp., announced record financial results for 2012, reporting $1.1 billion of annual revenue and $383 million of adjusted earnings.

“Great America has an impressive 2013 season planned with a new, technologically advanced show, igNIGHT — Grand Finale, new and innovative ride experiences, special events and fun for the entire family,” said Hank Salemi, park president.

“By focusing on guest satisfaction and strategic capital investments we will continue to raise the bar for family entertainment.”

Great America has begun hiring more than 3,000 seasonal positions to operate the Gurnee theme park and water park, Hurricane Harbor.

Great America opens for its 38th season on May 4.

The park will be open weekends and select weekdays through May 15, when daily operations begin.
