Long-term care honor: Karen Dockery, a licensed practical nurse at Hillcrest Nursing Center, Round Lake Beach, has been recognized by the Health Care Council of Illinois as a “Hero in Long Term Care” for her support and comfort for residents and their families.

Library hire: Jennifer Drinka has been named head of the children’s and programming department at Warren-Newport Public Library District, Gurnee. Drinka holds a master’s in library science degree from Dominican University, River Forest, and a bachelor of arts in fiction writing from Columbia College, Chicago. Her previous experience is as youth program coordinator at Barrington Area Library and other posts at Baraboo, Wis. Public Library, Ela Area Public Library in Lake Zurich and Fox River Grove Public Library.

Physicians group: Three physicians have joined the Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group which has opened an office on the campus of Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital. Dr. David Vigder is a primary-care internist who is board certified in Internal Medicine. Vigder specializes in adult medicine and brings more than a dozen years of experience and personalized patient care to the practice after practicing independently in Lake Forest for 13 years. Another primary-care internist is Dr. Rachel Oosterbaan, who has relocated from a downtown Chicago NMPG practice. She is a board-certified physician with 13 years of experience, specializing in cancer screening, including breast and colorectal cancer, cardiovascular diseases and travel medicine. The third physician to join the practice is Dr. Susan Shaw, a board-certified gynecologist, practicing for 11 years. Shaw attended Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where she currently holds an appointment as a clinical instructor.
