Vista Health System recently announced the appointment of Pamela German Hill as its new Chief Financial Officer.

Inducted: Miles White, chairman and CEO of Abbott Laboratories, was among 177 of the nation’s most influential artists, scientists, scholars, authors and institutional leaders who were inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences earlier this month. Founded in 1780, the American Academy is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious learned societies, and an independent research center that draws from its members’ expertise to conduct studies in science and technology policy, global security, the humanities and culture, social policy, and education.
New CFO: Waukegan-based Vista Health System has announced the appointment of Pamela German Hill as its new chief financial officer. Hill joined Vista earlier this year as interim CFO on assignment from Community Health Systems, the parent company of Vista. She had been a project CFO for CHS for two years before accepting the full-time Vista post. Hill began her career with CHS in 2003, serving in its Dyersburg and Lexington, Tenn., facilities in key financial roles. She holds a BS/BA degree in accounting from Union University in Jackson, Tenn., and earned a master’s in health administration from the University of Memphis.
New store: Casey Jaronik of Winthrop Harbor, a native of Beach Park, has opened a 1,200-square-foot Ambrosia Juice Co. in the Shoppes at Prairie Ridge, 9901 77th St., in Pleasant Prairie, Wis. The place serves fresh-pressed fruit and vegetable juices; smoothies and fresh-brewed coffee.
New instructor: Noel Velasquez has joined Kathi’s Musicians’ Center School of Music in Grayslake as a guitar instructor. He holds a bachelor’s in music from the Berklee College of Music, Boston. He has performed as soloist and is heard in numerous bands, church events and most recently, the College of Lake County Jazz Band.
New hires: Two former Abbott Laboratories employees have joined Irving, Texas-based Reata Pharmaceuticals. Dr. Paul Audhya is vice president of development and chief medical Officer, who has more than 15 years of biopharmaceutical R&D experience. Sean Nolan is the new vice president and chief commercial officer. Nolan began his career at Abbott, where he served in a variety of marketing and sales leadership positions.
Joins practice: Dr. Dana Ben-Dov has joined the Northwestern Memorial Physicians Group at its new Grayslake office. Ben-Dov is a primary care physician, board certified in internal medicine with a special interest in women’s health, obesity and weight loss, diabetes, hypertension, wound care and preventative medicine. After graduating medical school at Loyola University, Chicago, Ben-Dov completed her residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago. She has been practicing in Grayslake and Highland Park since 2002.
