Gurnee’s Fill-the-Drum event aims to honor local student
A rare performance from three Gurnee school marching bands is scheduled to draw hundreds to the Warren Township High School Stadium O’Plaine Campus, 500 N. O’Plaine Road, Gurnee at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9. At the entrance to this free event, monetary donations can be deposited into two open drums that will benefit the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) in honor of Madelaine Lefebvre, a current student at Warren Township High School and graduate of Woodland.

Waukegan High rifle team is up to the Challenge
The school year has just started, so the bucket list of things the Waukegan High School rifle team hopes to accomplish this school year is still a long one. But one item got crossed off its list last week when team members and coaches participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to support ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis/Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
