1. Pumpkin Fest
Pumpkin Fest will be held Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Cook Park on Milwaukee Avenue, between Cook Avenue and Church Street, Libertyville. Receive a pumpkin with a donation for the food pantry; paint your pumpkin, Touch the Trucks on Church Street, visit local businesses for fall activities, and dance and be entertained by a kids DJ. German American Club of Antioch will hold Oktoberfest Oct. 13 at 5:30 p.m. at the German American Cultural Center, 259 W. Grand Ave., Lake Villa. The Paloma Band will perform and there will be plenty of beer and food. Tickets are $10. Details, (847) 356-5484.
K-9 Playtime will host a Howl-O-Ween Howl benefit Oct. 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 403 Washington Blvd., Mundelein. The event will feature pet costume contests, silent auctions and raffles, food, fun and more. All proceeds from the event will benefit Placing Paws of Illinois, a Libertyville-based animal rescue group. Admission is $5 per dog or $10 for a multi-dog family. 4. Haunted Trail
The Haunted Trail and Bonfire will be held Oct. 13 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Forest View Park, 513 Forest View Drive, Lindenhurst. Walk along the winding, wooded path and see approximately 12 different spooky scenes for only $1. Other attractions will include wagon rides from 3 to 6 p.m., games, live entertainment, moonwalk, costume contest, face painting and more. The bonfire starts at dusk. Details, (847) 356.6011.
5. Ragdale ArtWauk
Enjoy an arts adventure at the Ragdale ArtWalk and Open House Oct. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Ragdale, 1230 N. Green Bay Road, Lake Forest. Meet the artists-in-residence and see work created by six members of Chicago Sculpture International. Visit open studios and the recently restored Ragdale House. Light refreshments provided.
