Golden Dragon Acrobats will perform a new Chinese acrobatic show called "Cirque Ziva" Feb. 22 at the College of Lake County in Grayslake.

GRAYSLAKE — The director of Golden Dragon Acrobats brings a new Chinese acrobatic show called “Cirque Ziva” Feb. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at the College of Lake County in the Mainstage Theatre of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 W. Washington St..
“Cirque Zíva” was created in 2011 for a 10-week engagement at Asbury Park Boardwalk’s Paramount Theatre in New York. An instant success that earned critical acclaim and attracted packed houses, Cirque Zíva is a fast-paced, technically innovative and beautifully presented new show.
The 25 performing acrobats are athletes, actors and artists who will amaze the audience with acrobatic feats using their bodies and simple props such as plates, jugs, bicycles, umbrellas and more. The large cast and spectacular set designs illustrate the best of Asian Artists Productions, Inc.’s brand of artistic merit, high production value and solid commitment to cultural exchange.
Producer Danny Chang is one of the world’s leading promoters of Chinese acrobatics. He began training at age 8 with his family’s acrobatic school in Taipei and joined its touring wing, the Golden Dragon Acrobats, at age 10. He has received many awards, including the prestigious Medal for International Faith and Goodwill by the Republic of China’s Coordination Council for North American Affairs. In 1998,
