Skating: Rink Side sports and Family Entertainment Center will host Radio Disney & Rink Side Family Fun Day from noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 21 at Rink Side Sports, Gurnee Mills, I-94 and Grand Avenue. There will be free skating and hockey clinics with professional instructors on the ice to help from noon to 2 p.m. The Radio Disney and Road Crew will perform from 2:15 to 3:45 p.m. There will be prizes, contests and raffles. RibFest: Lake Villa Township will host its annual winter Ribfest Jan. 28 from noon to 4 p.m. at Caboose Park, 37908 N. Fairfield Road, at Grand Avenue and Fairfield Road. Amateur Teams will vie for the title of best ribs. Ribs will be provided. New this year is a rib eating contest. In addition to the ribs there will be fun and games for kids of all ages.
