I don’t belong here. I mean people are super nice and everything, but it is just too stressful.
I haven’t had much luck with families. When my original family moved, they felt they couldn’t take me with them and so left me at a rural shelter. I quickly found another home with teen-agers where they described me as a great loving dog.
I thought I had it made, but unfortunately the father got really sick and could no longer take care of me. I also get along with other dogs, and if there is food, I might growl at the other dog, but they said that was the extent of my discontentment.
I lived with a cat, too, and did well with him. My last home reported that I was aggressive with kids and with one of the adults — some have the feeling that I may have not been treated well there.
I am a bit shy at first and can startle easily, so would prefer a quiet home. Fireworks, thunder and loud rumbles make me very anxious. I can get protective of strangers coming into my home and am cautious around some men.
I ride well in the car, know sit, paw, down and stay. I am an active and playful guy that also loves to just spend time cuddling and being loved.
I am not asking for much, just someone that will be patient with me at first as we get to know each other and that would be committed to making me feel secure and not expose me to people that sometimes scare me.
