Presentation: The future accessibility and affordability of higher education will be discussed by Dr. Gary Rhoades Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. in the Student Center Cinema, 900 Wood Road. Rhoades will speak on “Keeping College Accessible: Charting a New Course for Higher Education.” Rhoades, a professor of Higher Education at the University of Arizona in Tucson, provides a national perspective on the key factors affecting college affordability and educational quality. In addition to examining current patterns in state policy and their affect on institutions of higher education, Rhodes will offer suggestions for charting a new course. This program is free. Details, (262) 595-2261.

Exhibit: The photographic and video art of Hans Gindlesberger will be on display through March 16 at 900 Wood Road. This students’ choice exhibition titled “I’m in the Wrong Film and Other Works,” is shown in the Foundation Gallery of the Rita Tallent Picken Regional Center for Arts and Humanities. Raised in the American Midwest during the decline in the 1980s and 1990s, and forging a career in the midst of the ongoing economic crisis, Gindlesberger is inescapably caught between nostalgic longing for better times and anxiety-ridden hope for economic recovery. The images present landscapes of isolation and decay in photographs of main streets and neighborhoods taken in Ohio to New York. Digitally inserting himself into these depopulated stages, Gindlesberger strikes poses of exhaustion, listlessness and melancholy. Gindlesberger will also present an artist talk March 5 at noon. At 2 p.m., he will present a “low-tech” animation workshop in room D150L of Wyllie Hall. Hours for the gallery are Tuesdays and Wednesdays noon to 6 p.m., Thursdays noon to 8 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays noon to 4 p.m. Admission is free.
