Celebration: To recognize the value and benefits of international education and exchange, CLC will hold a study abroad fair and international photo competition judging Nov. 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also, there will be a Japan study abroad program at 2 p.m. and a Jordan study abroad program at 2:30 p.m. Details, (847) 543-2069.

Concert: Art of Jazz Concert featuring pianist Alan Broadbent will be held Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. Four-time Grammy nominee Alan Broadbent performs with the CLC Monday Night Jazz Ensemble in a concert featuring his arrangements. Broadbent has long been a major force behind the scenes of jazz, whether it is accompanying Irene Kral on some of the most exquisite vocal albums ever recorded, contributing arrangements to Diana Krall, Natalie Cole, Jane Monheit and Sir Paul McCartney or playing piano with Charlie Haden’s Quartet West. The CLC Tuesday Night Jazz Ensemble will also perform. Tickets are $4-8. Details, (847) 543-2300.

Lawrence University, Appleton, Wis.

Competition: Sophomore Elizabeth Vaughan, daughter of Richard and Gee Vaughan of Highland Park, earned honorable mention recognition in the young artists piano division at the recent 2012 Music Teachers National Association (MTNA) Wisconsin state competition. Also, she earned 2nd place honors in the sophomore women’s division at the recent Wisconsin chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) audition competition. She received $125 for her performance. She is a 2011 graduate of Interlochen (Mich.) Arts Academy. The MTNA performance competitions provide educational experiences for students and teachers and recognize exceptionally talented young artists in their pursuit of musical excellence. The 2012 auditions drew nearly 400 singers from around the state
