Fall prevention workshop

FITNESS: Get ready for your first 5K or reaching fitness goals in the new year. FUND-RAISER: Participate in Kayla Stiver’s 18th Birthday Wish. For her birthday, Kayla doesn’t want gifts. Instead, she wants to raise $1,800 to help find a cure for children’s cancer. PARENTING: Parent educator Beth Dostal says that parents can learn some easy strategies to avoid bedtime battles and other tough situations such as homework, chores and getting ready in the morning. IMMUNIZATIONS: Child immunization clinic hours are by appointment at the Health Department’s Immunizations Clinic, 2303 Dodge Ave., Waukegan, on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; on Tuesday, and Friday from 1 to 3 p.m.; on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; and the second Saturday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. Also, the Health Department is offering flu and pneumonia vaccinations to the general public by appointment only at the Health Department’s Immunizations Clinic.
