Army Spec. Jackie Jordan Jr. returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He has served in the military for two years. He is the son of Jackie Jordan of Garner, N.C., and Teresa Jordan of Chesapeake, Va. His wife, Arianna, is the daughter of Richard and Jan Rigdon of Gurnee. The specialist is a 1999 graduate of North Chicago High School.
Air Force Airman Jon Babiarz, son of Miriam Hackler of Lindenhurst and Steven Babiarz of Lombard, graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas. Babiarz earned distinction as an honor graduate.
He is a 2008 graduate of Lakes High School, Lake Villa, and earned an associate degree in 2012 from the College of Lake County, Grayslake.
Army 1st Lt. Nathan Horswill, son of Craig and Lynn Horswill of Barrington, returned to the U.S. after being deployed overseas at a forward operating base to serve in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. He is a troop fire support officer assigned to the 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
He has served in the military for two years. He is t a 2006 graduate of Barrington High School and received a bachelor’s degree in 2010 from the United States Military Academy, West Point, N.Y.
