Dr. King Jr.: This year marks the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have a Dream” speech. Test your knowledge in this month’s trivia contest at the Adult Reference desk Feb. 2-8.
Date with a book: Stop by between Feb. 4 and 16 to meet your perfect match—literary match, that is. Take home the one who catches your eye and afterward, “Rate Your Blind Date.” Return the form to the Adult Services desk by Feb. 28 and you’ll be entered into a drawing to win dinner for two.
AARP Driver Program: Take this two-day course, on Feb. 4-5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This course is designed for motorists age 50 and older. However, it is open to and beneficial for licensed drivers of any age. There are no driving requirements or graded tests required for this course. AARP members pay $12 and non-members pay $14. Home Schooling: An informal, parent-run meeting for all home-schoolers and those just thinking about it will be held Feb. 5 at 1:30 p.m. Bring a snack and a drink, along with a craft or board game for the kids to enjoy while parents network.
