College of Lake County, Grayslake

Film: “Poetry” (South Korea, 2010) will be shown March 1 at 7 p.m. at 19351 W. Washington St. Details, (847) 543-2623.

Exhibit: A national invitational ceramics exhibit called OutPOUR, featuring the pouring vessels of 45 artists will be on display March 1 through April 17 at The Robert T. Wright Community Gallery of Art on the at 19351 W. Washington St. The exhibit is curated by Ben Bates, CLC ceramics instructor. Concert: The Monday and Tuesday Night Jazz Ensembles will perform March 3 at 4 p.m. at 19351 W. Washington St. Get jazzed up listening to the best in big band charts, performed by the Monday Night Jazz Ensemble (directed by Dr. Michael Flack) and the Tuesday Night Jazz Ensemble (directed by Dave Hibbard). University of Wisconsin-Parkside, Kenosha

Concert: Music faculty and students at the UW-Parkside have a magnificent new instrument on which to learn and perform. A vintage 1955 Steinway grand piano, donated by Peter Tillema, debuts during a free concert Feb. 27 at noon, with the first performance by music professor Dr. James McKeever. Chancellor Ford will accept the donation at approximately 12:30 p.m. following the concert. The piano was selected at the Steinway factory by Peter Tillema’s father, pianist Ralph Tillema. It was signed at the time by the company’s owner, Henry Z. Steinway. Dr. McKeever will welcome the piano to its new home by performing works by Rachmaninoff and Ralph Tillema.
