Fund-raiser: Woodland Community Consolidated School District 50’s Parent Teacher Association and the Woodland Educational Foundation will co-host the annual Keep on Moving 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk May 3. Proceeds from this event will be shared by both organizations to fund initiatives that support ongoing commitments to the children and staff of Woodland District 50. The certified evening trail run will start at Woodland Middle School, 7000 Washington St. and continue to the championship 18-hole Bittersweet Golf Course. The one-mile fun run, is intended to encourage young children and their families to participate. The 1-Mile walk/run starts at 5 p.m. followed at 5:30 p.m. by 5K for walkers and runners of all ages. Seminar: Everything you do (and don’t) want to know about your kid going off to college will be discussed by a panel at 7 p.m. May 2 at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred Heart, 760 E. Westleigh Road. Fund-raiser: Mundelein High School’s Community Education and Alumni Foundation will host its annual Drive ’n’ Dine event May 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. New this year is a dinner/theater package where the ticket price will include the meal and the 2 p.m. performance of the MHS musical, “The Drowsy Chaperone.” The fund-raiser will feature chicken and ribs carry out “drive through” dining, catered by a local vendor. The entrees will be grilled on site. Patrons will be able to pick up their food in the west parking lot at the high school and then take their meals home, to an area park, etc., or inside the school if the theatre package is purchased.
