Contest: Design a bookmark to promote the library’s summer reading club theme, “Have Book—Will Travel,” and it will be used to celebrate Children’s Book Week, May 13-19. Entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on May 6.

Free comic book day: Check out a library book May 4 and get a free comic book. For comic lovers in grades K-12, while supplies last.

Book club: Discuss “Murder Below Montparnasse” by Cara Black May 1 at 1 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.

Picnic: Preschoolers, up to age 6, are invited to bring their grown-ups for a picnic with Winnie-the-Pooh May 4 from 11 a.m. to noon. There will be games and stories, too. Bring a lunch or snack and drinks will be provided.

Celebration: Everyone is invited to celebrate children, families and reading May 4 from 1 to 3 p.m. Sadarri & Company will get you movin’ and groovin’ to delightful songs and games in Spanish and English.
