Comic Celebration
Celebrate comics, manga and graphic novels to promote literacy through alternate mediums from 1 to 8 p.m. March 28 at Zion-Benton Public Library, 2400 Gabriel Ave., Zion. Play Comic Team Trivia, show off your comic costumes, compete in the Yu-Gi-Oh tournament, chill in the Manga Lounge or play a game to see who knows their friends the best. A panel of local authors and illustrators of comics and graphic novels, who will present a biography of graphic artist Will Eisner. Registration is recommended for contests. Details, (847) 872-4680.

Yarn Workers Crafting: Share your expertise or get instruction from others at this open forum workshop March 27 at 2 p.m. Registration requested.
Movie: “The Man Who would Be King: will be shown March 28 at 2 p.m. Registration requested.
Lunch and Movies: Kids can bring their lunch and eat while watching “Megamind” March 28 at noon and “Despicable Me” March 30 at noon. Entry is on a first come first served basis. No food or drink will be served by the library.
SafeSitter Babysitter Training Course: This nationally recognized program provides training for young sitters in how to interact with children, and what to do in case of an emergency March 29 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For ages 11-13. A $25 fee is required to cover the cost of materials. Registration required.
Family Fun Night: An evening of family fun with board games, and video games at 6:30 p.m. March 30. All ages welcome. Registration required.
Dragon Story and Craft: Hear a story about a friendly dragon then make a friendly dragon of your own to take home at 10 a.m. March 31. For 3 and up. Registration is required.
Number Bingo: Ages 6-12 are invited to start their Spring Break with a few games of B-I-N-G-O March 31 at 1 p.m. Registration required.

Celebration: Celebrate Spring Break with a free showing of a brand new animated feature at 2 p.m. March 31 at the Aspen Drive Library, 701 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills. The movie will be a PG-rated film released recently. Due to licensing rules, the name will have to remain secret. Grab a bag of popcorn and enjoy the show. Children under 10 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
