Wadsworth ruined?

I have never been so disgusted with Mayor Glenn Ryback and the Wadsworth village trustees. They have single-handedly ruined Wadsworth. Thank you so much.

Losing WKRS to a Spanish-speaking radio station is disgusting. What’s next?

Change at WKRS

To the whiners who are complaining about the change at WKRS. WKRS is going to a Spanish- language mode because the English-speaking listeners do not support the radio advertisers who pay the radio station for ads. Without ad revenue, the station will close. Good luck to WKRS.

Voice of Lake County

Lake County needs WKRS. It is our voice and source for all local news and happenings. Why would they change it to a Hispanic-only station? We need someone to take our country back! Stand up for the English-speaking citizens and our rights.

Keystone Pipeline

Rejecting the Keystone Pipeline by President Obama will only worsen America’s already hurting economy and its security. Thousands of jobs would have been created and a secured source of oil would have been guaranteed the American people at lower cost if Obama did not reject it. But Obama’s only concern is about politics — specifically about his re-election; everything else be damned. By far, this is the worse decision made by President Obama in his short stint as president. It’s deleterious and devastating effects will be felt by the American people for many, many years to come. He must already know that by taking this terrible decision, his reign is about to end!

Towers security

I lived at the Towers in Waukegan for 13 years and we had armed security officers. What happened to them? My biggest complaint was the elevator didn’t always work. There are some nice people that live there that can’t help themselves to get out. I am thankful that I was able to leave.

Helps those in need

I would like to commend Cheri Ditzig for all the things that she has been doing for Zion. She is a very hard-working person and helps everybody that’s in need. I don’t like the slander that’s been going on.

Cheesehead mentality

Let me get this straight. The people of Wisconsin want to recall their governor who is reducing spending and their deficit. It is no wonder the Packers lost when they have cheeseheaded fans with this type of mentality.

State park issues

To the person who wrote about the federal employees and the Bush administration. Yes, there are fewer employees working for the State of Illinois, but look what it’s doing to our wonderful, beautiful state parks that we’re supposed to be able to enjoy with our families like we used do for many, many years. Because they’re cutting employees, there are no more beautiful parks if you look around.

King Emanuel

I just love Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel for giving new rules for protesters and giving the freedom of speech a little more leeway. Isn’t that kind of like King Emanuel? Does anybody else understand history? The reason we broke away from King George is because we didn’t have the right to protest when or how we wanted. Now we have a Chicago mayor telling us how and when you will protest. Welcome to America. Long live King Emanuel!

Pension fraud

How can we fault the people on welfare and food stamps when the CEOs and the like are or will be getting better than $250,000 for their pensions? They have taken this money on the backs of the working people who can earn just enough to feed their families. This is very apparent in this great State of Illinois. The pensions and fraud that goes with it is rampant. Reform, reform, reform Gov. Quinn, I have faith in you.

Take responsibility

Concerning the North Chicago schools and elsewhere. If you want your kids to learn, then send them to school, tell them to behave and to have morals and values. Take responsibility for your own children. If you want a good education, then teach them at home and make sure they stay in at night. You go to school to learn so behave and listen. Pull those pants up, too. It’s ridiculous.

Stem cell research

I believe the governor should start a program where all the women that give birth would have the option of donating their umbilical cords to be used for stem cell research and people could pay a small sum for it. I think that would be great.

The ’KRS Grail

WKRS in Waukegan is going to a Spanish format. That radio station was like the Holy Grail when we were growing up and I can’t believe it’s going all Spanish. There’s a 53 percent population of Spanish people in Waukegan. I am white male and I will move back to the city and apply for a minority status to own a business. If I’m denied, get ready because I’m going to be suing the pants off of everybody because I am now a minority.

I guess it’s official: The Voice of Lake County speaks Spanish.

Neighborhood Watch

In our ward, we have a Neighborhood Watch. So for all you punks out there that want to steal cars., we’re starting our cars in the morning and then we sit in the back yard with pellet guns waiting for you. For all you people that think you’re going to terrorize the taxpayers of Waukegan, you better back off because it’s no fun to be arrested and put in jail. Or maybe it is fun for you guys.

Packers vs. Bears

Regarding the TOTC “Packers loss.” The Bears lost to the Packers the last four times they have played them. The last time they beat the Bears was last year when you thought your team was going to the Super Bowl. We knocked you out of the NFC Championship game and swept both games and we beat you twice this year. The Bears lost a lot more than the Packers. They lost to the Packers four times within a year and the Packers only lost two games in almost two years.

WKRS switch

Looks like we won’t have a radio station in Lake County anymore because WKRS is switching to a Spanish station. People in Lake County supported WKRS for so long and this is what they do to us. Hopefully they go belly up when they switch over and realize that you need to speak English in this county and country.

Radio boycott

Lake County residents teed off over the switch from WKRS to Spanish should boycott all NextMedia stations — including WXLC and WLIP in Kenosha. That is how things get done in this country. I know I’m not listening anymore.
