New home damaged by fire in Riverwoods

Officials are investigating what caused the fire that damaged a newly constructed single-family home early Friday morning, according to the Lincolnshire-Riverwoods Fire Protection District.

A fire at 2 Wildflower Lane in Riverwoods was reported at 4:44 a.m. Friday, according to a press release issued Saturday. The residence was a large, single-family wood structure that was unoccupied.

There was heavy smoke damage throughout the home.

The fire was under control within 30 minutes. Linconshire-Riverwoods, Deerfield, Prospect Heights, Lake Zurich and Long Grove fire departments responded to the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of fire is under investigation. No damage estimate was available.
