GURNEE — Bond was set at $100,000 on Friday for a man allegedly involved in the shooting at the In-Laws restaurant this week.
Joe Richardson-Wester, 27, of North Chicago was charged with one count of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon-possession without a FOID, and aggravated discharge of a firearm, police said. He was taken to Lake County Jail after his bond hearing Friday morning.
The incident occurred just before midnight Wednesday when police officers responded to a disturbance call at the restaurant on Milwaukee Avenue near Grand Avenue where 15 patrons were involved. The first officer on the scene heard gunshots and a dark-colored SUV left the parking lot without its lights on.
That vehicle was driven by Richardson-Western and had multiple bullet holes in it. Police also found a gun outside of the vehicle. He was taken to Advocate Libertyville Medical center, Libertyville, and was treated and released for a wound to a hand.
Later, police learned there was a 33-year-old male from North Chicago who was treated at Vista Medical Center West in Waukegan for a gunshot wound to the leg that he allegedly received while in the In-Laws parking lot. No other injuries were reported.
The case remains under investigation.
