Money for nothing
Why is it that everybody thinks they deserve something for nothing? When I was a kid going to school, I walked home to get my lunch and then walked back to school. I know times are different and times are changing, but if we do anything more than 1,500 calories a day then the parents don’t deserve the Link cards. You don’t deserve the Link cards if you’re not going to give the food to your children or if you’re going to profit from your children because that becomes a problem.
Spy cameras
It seems like Chicago has cameras for everything such as speeding and red lights just so they can spy on all the people. They have police stopping people for no reason it all to do checks to see if you’re drinking or have your seat belt on.
Rick for prez
Let’s hear it for President Santorum and a return to abnormalcy.
Selective discrimination
Regarding the comment in TOTC stating when the Catholic Church is going to start screaming about medical insurance coverage for Viagra. When is the Catholic Church going to start screaming about medical insurance that covers vasectomies. The church is really out to lunch in their selective discrimination against women. You can’t just say that you don’t want birth control for women and allow men to have vasectomies. It has nothing to with anything medically other than birth control. It would be nice if the argument would actually center on health issues and stop this nonsense about what “I believe.” The Catholic Church simply likes to discriminate against women.
Mayoral hopeful
Whoever’s running for the mayor of Waukegan next year should have the character of Bob Sabonjian and not Newt Gingrich.
Half staff
Why would we want to have a flag at half staff for somebody that’s not in the military? I’m speaking of Whitney Houston who passed away, which is very, very sad, but she was not in the military and didn’t do anything for our country at all.
World’s end
Everyone is worried about the end of the world in 2012. As long as the sun is out there, we’re fine. The Bible says until the sun is gone Jesus will not return. And when he returns, you have nothing to worry about as long as you are a believer.
Glory days
Ah, Friday nights in downtown Waukegan were a shopper’s delight. There were three dime stores, four theaters, Globe store, Lindberg’s, Hein’s, Waukegan Dry Goods and many shoe stores. Do you have any stories or memories to add to this list?
