Updated: March 22, 2012 8:10AM

GRAYSLAKE — A 77-year-old man drowned Sunday night at the recreation center of the adult community Carillon North.

Donald Parsons of the 100 block of Enfield Lane, Grayslake, was pronounced dead at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville, and an autopsy is scheduled to be performed today, Feb. 21, said Lake County Coroner Artis Yancey.

The Grayslake Fire department was called to the Recreational Center at 2411 Carillon Drive for a man in cardiac arrest around 8 p.m. Sunday. The workout facility serves the over-55 community off Rollins Road.

It was unknown if Parsons was swimming by himself.

Yancey said Monday the drowning may have been due to a heart condition, but he wouldn’t know for sure until the autopsy.
