ROUND LAKE — A 60-year-old Round Lake Park man died Wednesday after being struck by a Metra train near Cedar Lake Road and Route 134.
A Lake County Coroner’s Office spokesman said Gary Oborny of the 500 block of Prospect, Round Lake Park, was pronounced dead at 9:46 a.m. at Advocate Condell Medical Center, Libertyville. He was hit close to the Round Lake Metra Station.
The death remains under investigation.
A Metra spokesman said the inbound train Wednesday morning stopped because the train’s crew thought they might have hit someone. There was a 25-minute delay for the inbound train and an outbound train.
