Citizen Watchdog program Sept. 20

The Better Government Association will sponsor a free Citizen Watchdog Training at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at Rosalind Franklin University’s Health Science Building, 3333 Green Bay Road, North Chicago.
The session, which is aimed at empowering citizens to help keep government honest and transparent, will include presentations by veteran journalists and legal professionals on understanding government, the Open Meetings Act and the Freedom of Information Act.
Members of the BGA’s Investigative Unit will also be on site to hear from concerned citizens about possible instances of corruption or to take other tips.
