Waukegan man held on child porn charge

WAUKEGAN — A 19-year-old local man was arrested for child pornography after authorities served a search warrant at his home.
Waukegan police and the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force served a search warrant Wednesday at 1520 Brookside Ave., following a joint investigation.
Authorities seized a computer with hundreds of pages of child pornography images and arrested Javier Beltran, 19, of that address.
He was just days short of his 20th birthday and is one of the youngest suspects involved in child pornography in Waukegan, authorities said Friday.
He admitted to the crime after questioning, police said, and was charged with aggravated child pornography, a Class 2 felony.
Beltran’s bond was set at $50,000. He was still in Lake County Jail as of late Friday.
Police said there could be additional charges after authorities review all the evidence.
Beltran is scheduled to appear in Lake County Circuit Court on Sept. 24.
