Three arrested on McHenry pot charges

WOODSTOCK — Three Lake County residents have been arrested on multiple felony drug charges by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office after nine pounds of marijuana worth $34,000 was seized.
Sheriff Keith Nygren said Wednesday deputies conducted a surveillance operation near Chapel Hill Road and Route 120 on Oct. 16 after receiving a tip of a potential drug-selling transaction. During the investigation they observed two vehicles meet up and observed one of the vehicles’ occupants carrying a bag with marijuana in it.
The three were arrested without incident and more than nine pounds of marijuana was seized, along with drug paraphernalia and a 2006 Infiniti sedan. Nygren estimated the street value of the marijuana to be $34,000.
Arrested were Max Barraza, 22, of 330 S. Litchfield Drive, Round Lake; Alexander De Los Santos, 39, of 521 N. Pine St., Waukegan; and Michelle Luzar, 26, of 25962 W. Marquette Drive, Ingleside.
All three were charged with unlawful delivery of cannabis, unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful calculated criminal cannabis conspiracy. In addition, Luzar was charged with a misdemeanor charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
