WAUKEGAN — Two juveniles were arrested after being found inside the fenced-in area of the Lakeside school bus parking lot and later admitted to burglarizing the business and damaging vehicles.
On Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., a Waukegan police officer on patrol went by the school bus company facility at 2794 Northwestern Ave. He noticed two juveniles inside the fenced parking lot. He called for back-up and both were taken into custody. Three buses were found to be damaged.
A 14-year-old offender gave a statement as to his involvement in this and a previous crime at the bus company. He was charged with two counts of trespassing, two counts of criminal damage to property, and possession of a controlled substance.
The other suspect, a 16-year-old, did not give a statement, but was charged with two counts of trespassing and possession of a controlled substance, marijuana, police said Wednesday.
Both were transported to the Depke Juvenile Detention Center in Vernon Hills.
