Four people were injured in a six-vehicle collision Sunday on the I-94 tollway near the exit for Great America (Route 132), Illinois State Police Master Sgt. Will Rogers said.
The multi-car accident happened at 12:28 p.m. in the westbound lanes of I-94 at mile post 11.5, north of Belvidere Road (Route 120).
A Ford Mustang and Toyota pickup were in the left lane. Traffic came to an abrupt stop and the Mustang swerved into the Toyota’s rear, Rogers said. The Mustang also struck a Ford Focus.
The Focus then struck a Lexus SUV. The Lexus then hit a Cadillac. The Cadillac then struck a Hyundai. Four people were transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville for non-life threatening injuries following the crash, Rogers said.
The accident is under investigation.
