NORTH CHICAGO — Police are still trying to figure out what happened to a 33-year-old man found shot to death inside a vehicle in the city on Wednesday night.
North Chicago Police Cmdr. George McClary said Friday that the initial call was made by someone walking down the street who saw the vehicle stopped with its wheels up against the curb of the parkway on Wright Street near 22nd Street. When police arrived, Kenny Shante-James was found inside the vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds just after 10 p.m. and the Lake County Coroner was called.
Shante-James is from North Chicago, but police have not been able to pin down a current address for him.
“We’re just following up tips and leads,” said McClary. The Lake County Major Crime Task Force was called in to investigate the incident.
